With a team of 18, a reception area and shared meeting rooms all tightly squeezed onto two floors, space was at a premium for Altrincham based Capstone Financial.
They had the opportunity to buy their rented building from the landlord, which they jumped at. This then gave the business the chance to re-design the interior to enhance the interior space for a more professional and vibrant workspace.
Sarah Healey, director, was introduced to Paul Eatock to help with the design and office furniture specification for the office.
As space was at a premium in the Altrincham office, we worked with Sarah to propose the most suitable design to maximise space, functionality while not compromising on design. And now they owned the building we could be as creative as we wanted.
Capstone Financial to propose the best solution to this issue, and as they now had full ownership of the building that they were previously renting, we had more or less free reign to design and complete the best possible refurbishment/extension for them.
Sarah Healey comments, “I had quite a clear vision. We completely gutted the old hairdressers and divided up the empty shell. I wanted a really nice clean simple design but functional too as a working office.
Paul was really hands-on and listened to what I wanted. He took on board our branding and gave suggestions. I’m a visual person so just the fact that he was able to create the design before we committed to buying anything was super helpful. He fulfilled my vision 100%.”
Scope of work
We started by converting the ground floor hairdressers into two smart new meeting rooms and a new reception area. Visual impact was crucial as this area was the first thing that customers would see on entering the office, and first impressions are so important.
By re-designing the new meeting rooms and reception area, Capstone Financial were able to free up vital admin space in which to grow the team.
The refurbishment process implemented was based on a clean, simple, and functional design that complemented the company’s branding throughout.
As it was a complete office fit-out and furniture project, we sourced and specified furniture to match the internal décor and styling. Paul worked closely with Sarah before final options were chosen, providing fabric samples and showing visual styles of furniture. We also recommend numerous other items that would fit perfectly in their renovated office spaces.
Sarah comments, “Sometimes you can think, oh I’ll just go online and find the furniture myself. But when I cross comparisoned, Paul was really good value - the best materials sourced at the best price.”
Even when Covid-19 complications meant that building timescales were pushed back, our team’s flexibility meant we were able to meet the design and furniture challenges calmly and professionally.
Paul was brilliant and met the timescales - what was great about working with him was that he didn’t overpromise. We are potentially looking to refurbish our Bolton office over the next couple of years - I’ll definitely speak to him and engage him on that project.
Dealing with one person from start to finish would make it a lot less stressful. That he can do it all from start to finish is really good, especially for busy business owners that don’t have time to micro manage these things."
